We promised our daughter she could have her ears pierced for her birthday. I remember going to the doctor to have it done. Where does one go these days to have a 10 year-old's ears pierced?
You probably don't want to go to one of the piercing-tattoo combo places....scary! Claires has 3,000 locations in the world and offers free ear piercing. If you are a complete masochist visit the Claire's website and hear the ear piercing song and watch the after care video. Yikes!
Last year Hilary bought Alyssa's daughter a cookbook and Annabelle has spent the better part of the year perfecting the cookbook's macaroni and cheese recipe. Here's her version--the first one the children like that doesn't come out of a box and doesn't involve some sort of flourescent orange substance. The topping is our own special addition...but be forewarned: you won't be able to stop at one bite!
This is the worst advice I have ever heard. The piercing-tattoo spots on St. Marks are licensed professionals and they take their jobs very seriously. All of their implements are sterile and they never do a piercing if they feel that it won't heal correctly. I know this first hand. When I was 18 I went to Andromeda for an unusual piercing that was popular at the time and they refused to do it because after examining my ear they determined that it wouldn't hold. They stopped me from ruining the top of my ear! The people at Claire's are selling jewelry. They hardly know what they're doing. I feel like your advice is biased against so-called "scary" people on St. Marks...but welcome to 2008. St. Marks is MAINSTREAM. The dude with the blue hair and the Sex Pistols t-shirt? Most likely he studies architecture at Cooper Union.
