Eating Near Chelsea Piers

Kids have a birthday party at Chelsea Piers and want to take them out to eat after. Anything family-friendly nearby?
We had a fun meal with our children at The Diner on 9th Avenue at 14th Street. Food was tasty and best of all, the kids' meals were served in a paper convertible. An hour of entertainment, which allowed us to finish our meals and a cocktail. Pop Burger is just next door--also fun but no table service. The mini-burgers are delicious but be sure to ask for them PLAIN so your kids don't have a stroke when they arrive with condiments on the bun!

Last year Hilary bought Alyssa's daughter a cookbook and Annabelle has spent the better part of the year perfecting the cookbook's macaroni and cheese recipe. Here's her version--the first one the children like that doesn't come out of a box and doesn't involve some sort of flourescent orange substance. The topping is our own special addition...but be forewarned: you won't be able to stop at one bite!
