Have you ever shopped at roseytoys.com? I have heard good things about them (customer service, toy selection, etc), but I wanted to know if you have ever purchased anything from them and if so, how it went?
Nope, in fact we hadn't heard of Rosey Toys until you wrote in. Anyone out there ever buy from them? Would love to hear about your experience since many of the toys look pretty nice. Just be careful when you type in the URL. We accidentally typed "rosetoys" and got something that was not quite child friendly!
I'd like to buy my niece a baby doll--she's 18 months old and I have boys! What's a good one?
Alyssa always buys Corolle's Mon Premier Calin dolls as first birthday gifts for girls. They're just the right size for little ones to drag around and the bean bag bodies are nice and soft. Don't bother buying any extra clothes for the baby--chances are, the baby will end up naked most of the time. No worries if it gets dirty--they're easily cleaned with a wipe or (don't tell) but you can stick it in the washing machine in a net bag!

Try Young Explorers, Fat Brain Toys, and Hearthsong. All three have a great selection of things that are just a little different and we think these three sites have a good selection for slightly older kids, too. And take note, they're all offering cheap or free shipping for the holidays.
Last year Hilary bought Alyssa's daughter a cookbook and Annabelle has spent the better part of the year perfecting the cookbook's macaroni and cheese recipe. Here's her version--the first one the children like that doesn't come out of a box and doesn't involve some sort of flourescent orange substance. The topping is our own special addition...but be forewarned: you won't be able to stop at one bite! … [see more]
