Having some friends over for lunch on Sunday and want to serve something other than the usual bagels and lox. I'm stumped.
What about picking up lobster rolls at Mary's Fish Camp? The lines at lunchtime are famous but we learned that you can call ahead and pick up the legendary lobster sandwiches. And please, don't forget the matchstick fries that come on the side. Serve with very cold white wine...yummy!
Where can I get custom cupcakes for a wedding shower I'm having for my sister? Want something really special.
Call Gail at One Tough Cookie. She makes the most beautiful cupcakes adorned with custom cookies. They are the cutest we've seen. Gail loves to really personalize every cupcake. You'll love them!
My daughter wants to bring in cinnamon buns for her school birthday treat. Where in NYC can I get them? No time to whip them up myself!
According to Chowhound, "NYC really isn't a cinnamon bun kind of town." But if you need a cinnman roll, you need a cinnamon roll! Here are some spots to find one: Whole Foods-no raisins, come 4 to a pack. babycakes NYC- dairy, egg, soy free. agave sweetened. contain spelt....Alyssa says just say NO! Cinnabon- 730 friggin calories per classic Cinnabon roll. Holy crap...but spectacular and the minibons are only 300 calories. Amy's Bread- little flat with raisins. Doughnut Plant-big and gourmet with raisins, more donut-like.

We've both bought it at Trader Joe's, but there's never any guarantee they're going to have them. You might be able to squeak by with Ronzoni Alphabets. They're really mean to be put into soup, but with a little butter and salt, they're pretty yummy. And with tons of tiny letters there's a way better chance of being able to spell your name on a spoon.
Last year Hilary bought Alyssa's daughter a cookbook and Annabelle has spent the better part of the year perfecting the cookbook's macaroni and cheese recipe. Here's her version--the first one the children like that doesn't come out of a box and doesn't involve some sort of flourescent orange substance. The topping is our own special addition...but be forewarned: you won't be able to stop at one bite! … [see more]
