Where is a good place to buy "training bras" in NYC? Don't want to spend too much on them! Thanks.
Try Gap Body. The XS size sports bras are super-comfortable and nice and stretchy. Lester's also had a pretty good selection last time we were there (and no old ladies taking embarrassing measurements!). Someone recommended My First Bra, but the tag line of "a helpful guide" kind of freaked us out...but to each her own!
Where can I find a black suit for a four year old? My son is in a wedding and it's either that or rent a tux. Would prefer not to spend a fortune on something he'll wear once.
Yes, they'll be made of polyester but Century 21 always has a couple of racks of them. Spend a little bit to have it tailored to fit, add a better shirt, and nobody will notice. If Century has nothing in the way of dress shoes, make a stop at Payless. They're always good for some black shoes (that your son will likely take off at the reception anyway!).
Hi Alyssa & Hilary,
I need to buy some skirt suits for job interviews, but can't seem to find anything. I am petite, which makes it even more difficult, and everything I have found is not plain enough, has some sort of design, & just doesn't look good. I am looking for plain black, navy, grey, and/or pinstripe skirt suits. Also, many of the ones i have found are 2-button, which just looks weird on me. I've already tried Lord & Taylor, Banana Republic, JCrew. Any suggestions? Please help!!
Try Bloomingdales or Saks. They both have big petite departments with a good selection of suits. Get it? Big, petite department?
Last year Hilary bought Alyssa's daughter a cookbook and Annabelle has spent the better part of the year perfecting the cookbook's macaroni and cheese recipe. Here's her version--the first one the children like that doesn't come out of a box and doesn't involve some sort of flourescent orange substance. The topping is our own special addition...but be forewarned: you won't be able to stop at one bite! … [see more]
