My daughter wants to take hip hop classes. Where?

Don't be scared, it's OK! Broadway Dance Center offers hip hop. They say it focuses on the popular, urban, youth culture style of dance, originating on the street, that provides a funkier edge to the basic styles of dance. Like we thought it was focusing on the 4H youth culture of barn dancing.

Italian For Toddlers

We just moved back to NYC after living in Rome for several years. We'd like our children (ages 6 and 2) to keep up their Italian. Do you know any classes or playgroups downtown?

We spoke to an Italian friend who highly recommends Centro Raccontami, the Italian Language and Cultural Arts Center on 14th Street. They offer exactly what you're after and have programs for children and adults every day of the week.

Where can I take a pizza class?

ICE has great pizza classes. They teach both the thick and thin crust version. This is a fun night out. Maybe they let you drink wine while you're kneading.

Alyssa"s husband and son did a few sessions of WeBop at Jazz at Lincoln Center and loved it. Just be prepared for your little one to be singing "Salt Peanuts" over and over again.

tip o’ the week: Super Easy Mac 'n Cheese

April 27, 2009 4:46 AM Filed Under: RECIPES TIP O' THE WEEK

Last year Hilary bought Alyssa's daughter a cookbook and Annabelle has spent the better part of the year perfecting the cookbook's macaroni and cheese recipe. Here's her version--the first one the children like that doesn't come out of a box and doesn't involve some sort of flourescent orange substance.
