Could you help out with a summer camp recommendation?  My daughter will be twelve and wants to go to a two week sleep away. She is into sports but also loves the usual camp stuff"...water skiing, arts and crafts and a good tribal war.  Is it possible in two weeks?  Thanks.

New York Family is teaming up with the American Camp Association- NY (ACA-NY) for their fifth annual camp fair series. Representatives from tons of camps and the ACA-NY will be on hand to provide information to help parents make an informed decision on camp.

Would like to try something different for my children for next summer but the camp choices are overwhelming. How do I narrow it down?

We'd suggest two things: first of all, talk to your friends and neighbors to get an idea of what their children do and whether or not they like the programs and why. File this all in the back of your mind when you visit New York Family's Camp Fairs. They have seven of them scheduled throughout the fall/winter and it's a great chance to meet representatives from a wide range of day/sleepaway/NYC/suburban camps.

My daughter is going on a school camping trip next month and she needs a sleeping bag.

Alyssa's and Hilary's daughters both have tye-dye slumber sacks. Comes with monogrammable stuff sack and shoulder strap. "Cool" enough for a slumber party, but perfect for camping too.
