What is threading? Why would I want to do it? And does it hurt?
Threading is an ancient form of hair removal. Threading, as opposed to tweezing or waxing can remove an entire row of hair, resulting in a straighter line. The practitioner holds one end of the cotton thread in his or her teeth, which is kind of weird, and then makes a loop somehow to trap a series of unwanted hairs. You'd want to do this if you are hairy and yes it hurts. Shobha (3 locations in NYC) are expert threaders but also do waxing and sugaring too. They take hair removal seriously, as should you.

Alyssa uses Laura Mercier's Secret Camoflouge (no secret now). Hilary uses Shu Uemura's Cover Crayon (and wishes it would cover other stuff too).
Last year Hilary bought Alyssa's daughter a cookbook and Annabelle has spent the better part of the year perfecting the cookbook's macaroni and cheese recipe. Here's her version--the first one the children like that doesn't come out of a box and doesn't involve some sort of flourescent orange substance. The topping is our own special addition...but be forewarned: you won't be able to stop at one bite! … [see more]
